Bennett, representing the Yamina party, leads a coalition alongside the Yesh Atid party's Yair Lapid. He will serve as premier for two years before Lapid, a former TV host, takes over.

"Thank you Netanyahu for a long service with many achievements for the State of Israel, for strengthening Israel's diplomatic status and security", Bennett said in Hebrew before the Knesset on Sunday, according to the Post's Lahav Harkov.

Netanyahu's supporters have interrupted virtually all of Bennett's sentences as they accuse him of betraying them.

Christian Eriksen collapses during Denmark vs Finland, Euro 2020 match suspended
Images of his teammates huddled around Eriksen and those who consoled his wife, who was at pitchside proved particularly moving. Eriksen , 29, fell to the ground near the sideline late in the first half and was immediately surrounded by medical personnel.

On the global stage, with his polished English and booming baritone voice, the telegenic Netanyahu has become the face of Israel. He followed Bennett's address with a speech of his own, in which he touted major developments during his administration.

This does seem likely regarding Israel's top security concern, Iran - and possible friction with U.S. President Joe Biden's administration over the 2015 nuclear pact between Tehran and world powers. Netanyahu also reached peace agreements with several Arab nations.

With little to no prospect of progress toward resolving the decades-long conflict with Israel, many Palestinians will be unmoved by the change of administration, predicting that Bennett will pursue the same right-wing agenda as Netanyahu.

The agenda includes talks on climate change, the global response to COVID-19 and the taxation of multinational corporations. It is taking place at Tregenna Castle in Carbis Bay, Cornwall.

The change in Israeli leadership does not appear to signal a change in the country's position on worldwide affairs.

"The government will make an effort to deepen and enhance our relations with both parties - bipartisan", Bennett said.

Bennett doesn't have the global standing, credibility or capability to "truly object" to the nuclear deal with Iran, Netanyahu said. He said a return to the deal would be a mistake and that Israel will not let Iran obtain nuclear weapons.

Biden aims to rally allies' support in first foreign trip
Joe Biden recently failed to disclose his policies towards Russian Federation ahead of his upcoming summit with Vladimir Putin. The Geneva summit will see Putin and Biden meet in person for the first time since Biden's inauguration.

The Likud Party clarified Thursday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's comments about election fraud were taken out of context, and the long-time leader of Israel fully respects the peaceful transition of power expected next week when Naftali Bennett is due to take over leadership of the country.
