More than 12 people were injured after a mass shooting in Austin, Texas on early June 12.
The incident unfolded around 1:30 a.m. along 6th Street, a popular area filled with bars and restaurants.
"It was very hard to contain the scene, it was very hard for EMS to make their way into this crowd", interim Austin Police Chief Joe Chacon said.
The motivation behind the shooting is now unknown and authorities have not yet given an update on the status of the suspect or suspects involved in the case.

It comes as disturbing footage emerged showing crowds of revellers calmly queuing outside a bar while officers were still giving first aid to the injured.
Sixth Street in Austin, Texas, was crowded with post-Covid revelers on Friday night when a man described as "black" with a thin build and "dreadlocks" opened fire outside a bar. Two of the victims are in critical condition, and police say that the "suspect (s) remains at-large". Medics took four people to the hospital by ambulance, Austin police took six others to the hospital and three were taken by private vehicle, EMS officials said.
"Our officers responded very quickly", Chacon said.
"They were able to immediately begin life saving measures for many of these patients", he added.

The shooter was not immediately arrested. Based on the available information, the department said that it appeared the shooter fired randomly into a large crowd and evidence indicated that the shooting was an isolated incident, although Chacon said that could not be fully confirmed while the suspect remained on the loose.
'I can not say that there is no further public danger at this point because the suspect is not in custody. Chacon says 11 of the 13 victims were in stable condition and 2 were in critical condition. He was released from custody after posting a $100,000 bond.
