Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has come out in support of President Joe Biden's $2 trillion infrastructure plan, including the corporate-tax hike.
Notably, 67% of Independents and 57% of Republicans support the American Jobs Plan, even as GOP lawmakers opposed to raising taxes on wealthy individuals and corporations have vowed to fight against the modernization of the country.
The plan, which would be expensed over eight years, calls for an increase in the corporate tax rate from 21 percent to 28 percent. We recognize this investment will require concessions from all sides - both on the specifics of what's included as well as how it gets paid for (we're supportive of a rise in the corporate tax rate). "We look forward to Congress and the Administration coming together to find the right, balanced solution that maintains or enhances USA competitiveness".
According to the poll, more than 60% of voters back every key provision of the plan, including investments in physical infrastructure, clean energy, manufacturing, housing, and the care economy.
