YouTube Temporarily Suspends Trump’s Official Account Upon "Ongoing Potential For Violence"


House Democrats to look into social media’s role in Capitol riot as part of broad disinformation inquiry

The suspension of Trump's channel came after comments the president made at a news conference on Tuesday that streamed on the platform.

Twitter Inc said it has suspended more than 70,000 accounts since Friday that were primarily dedicated to sharing QAnon content after last week's violence in Washington when supporters of President Donald Trump stormed the US Capitol.

YouTube said it has removed new content uploaded to the channel for violating its policies and temporarily prevented from uploading new content for a minimum of seven days. In addition to Trump, Donald Trump Jr. and Rudy Giuliani rallied the crowd and also urged them to fight against the election results.

YouTube will go the extra mile to disable the comments section under videos on Trump's YouTube channel.

YouTube has further disabled comments on Trump's channel for an indefinite period of time.

YouTube remains the only big platform that has not banned Donald Trump till now.

Democrats said they would move on with the non-binding 25th Amendment resolution, and set up a vote on Wednesday to impeach Trump. Other sites, such as Snapchat, Reddit and Twitch, also curtailed Trump.

As Trump prepared to leave D.C. for Alamo, Texas to discuss the border, he was asked about his responsibility for last week's events. Facebook and Twitter have suspended Trump's accounts indefinitely.
