US Will Require Negative Covid Test For All Travelers

COVID-19: People arriving in England need negative tests to enter country from Friday

New test rule for UK arrivals from Friday

Late last week, England's government also announced a requirement for global travelers entering the country from overseas to have a negative COVID-19 test result.

New Zealand announced new rules on Tuesday, which mean almost all Kiwis living overseas will soon have to show a negative Covid-19 test before boarding their flight home.

If a passenger doesn't provide documentation or doesn't take a test, airlines shouldn't allow them to board, the CDC said.

He added: "With the addition of pre-departure testing requirements, our already robust system to protect against imported cases of coronavirus is further strengthened and will provide the greatest overall protection against the risk of transmission during travel to England and after arrival".

The agency hopes the new testing requirement will help slow the spread of the virus as Americans continue to vaccinate.

It cited variants of the coronavirus emerging in countries around the world as a factor behind the move.

The variant has also been identified in dozens of countries worldwide.

Indonesia's president receives a Chinese-made vaccine that produced disappointing trial results. He raised concerns that vaccines could potentially not be effective against virus variants.

The negative test must be taken within 72 hours prior to arrival in Ireland.

Any other types of tests, including antigen tests, will not be accepted.

Coronavirus: Any virus that belongs to the Orthocoronavirinae family of viruses.

Nasopharyngeal swab: A long, flexible stick, tipped with a soft swab, that is inserted deep into the nose to get samples from the space where the nasal cavity meets the throat.

Oil prices weakened by rising virus cases
Brent could rise to $65 per barrel by summer 2021, Goldman Sachs said, driven by Saudi cuts and the implications of a shift in power to the Democrats in the United States.

If you go about your regular errands as you wait for your test results, you could not only expose others if it turns out you're positive, but also cancel out any peace of mind that comes with a negative result.

"I've breathed a sigh of relief that it wasn't just a PCR test".

The CDC confirmed last week it had circulated a proposal to expand the testing requirement after discussing the idea for weeks.

In-bound passengers to England will need to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test result taken no more than 3 days before departure.

"My biggest concern was, they couldn't obtain one (a PCR test) in the Family Islands and that would significantly restrict travel to the Family Islands, so I'm appeased somewhat that it is a rapid antigen test because travellers can very easily obtain a rapid antigen test throughout The Bahamas". Even with a negative test, arriving passengers are still required to quarantine for 14 days.

So too are airlines allied to engage the federal government to set a national testing standard.
