Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige spoke with Deadline about all of the upcoming projects in the Marvel cinematic universe, including the sequel to the 2018 hit movie. The actor died of cancer previous year, before filming on the franchise had completed. Feige acknowledged the loss of Boseman during Disney's Investor Day in December and revealed the role of T'Challa would not be recast, and in a new interview with Deadline, he insisted the team wouldn't be turning to CGI to create a digital double of him either.

'This was always and initially the primary focus of the next story. While explaining his take, Feige has reassured fans that they are not going to CG or recast Chadwick Boseman for the movie's titular superhero.

The news was confirmed in a statement posted to Instagram, reading: "It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman. But now there is also the goal of honoring and respecting all of Chad's teachings equally".

Kevin went on to praise writer-and-director Ryan Coogler for his "genius" work and, while the late actor won't feature in the movie, he promised the film will also "honour and respect" Chadwick's legacy.
