Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) tore into President Donald Trump in recorded comments, claiming Trump "careened" during the coronavirus and "kisses dictators" butts'. He also criticized Trump's handling of the coronavirus pandemic and said Trump's family has treated the presidency "like a business opportunity".
Calling it a "fair question", Sasse began his answer rather evenly, saying he's worked hard to "develop a good working relationship with the president over the last three and a half years" and that he often prays for Trump and Vice President Pence.
Trump "kisses dictators' butts" and has "flirted with white supremacists", according to a transcript of the virtual town hall.
"I'm now looking at the possibility of a Republican bloodbath in the Senate", Sasse said, "and that's why I've never been on the Trump train". "Ben is focused on defending the Republican Senate majority, and he's not going to waste a single minute on tweets", Sasse spokesman James Wegmann said in a statement Saturday morning.

5,000 Kg Bomb Explodes Underwater In Poland, Hundreds Evacuated
A British World War II giant Tallboy bomb has exploded while being made safe underwater by navy sappers in northwestern Poland. The ship's cannons were being used to hold back the advance of the Red Army in the dying days of the war.
Puzzlingly, Cube called in 2018 for the police he once rapped about shooting to "arrest the president", and bragged in 2016 how he'd "never endorse" then-candidate Trump. "It will be, 'What the heck had been any of us pondering that promoting a TV-obsessed, narcissistic particular person to the American folks was a good suggestion?' It isn't a good suggestion". "And then he went into full economic shutdown mode", Sasse said. He mocks Evangelicals behind closed doors.
The remarks on Wednesday were far more scathing than any others he has made recently, and particularly notable given the tight hold Trump has taken over the Republican Party in his four years as president.
"It has always been imprudent for our party to tie itself to a Trumpian brand, and that's what I've been anxious about for five years", says Sasse.
