Saint Etienne boss Puel suggests Arsenal for treating Saliba

Saint-Etienne head coach Claude Puel has slammed Arsenal for their treatment of William Saliba after the defender was left off the team's Europa League squad.

Arsenal signed the teen center-back from Saint-Etienne previous year for million 27 million (35 35 million) before lending him back to the League 1 side for the 2019-20 season.

The Gunners negotiated with championship clubs, including Brentford, to lend to Saliba, but that potential move also collapsed.

Puel did confirm Saint-Etienne attempted to bring the teenager back for a second loan spell and Saliba himself was keen on the move.

Medvedev smashes racquet in St. Petersburg loss
Medvedev broke Opelka's serve twice in the opening set and held all his service games to clinch the first set. The defending champion lost to American, Reilly Opelka 6-2, 5-7, 4-6 in a thrilling three-set showdown.

This leaves Saliba, who is still waiting for his Gunners debut, in limbo as he faces an uncertain future with the club in north London.

"It was short-term [thinking], even for a young player", Puel told L'Equipe.

Despite Simeone's frustrations at how Arsenal went about signing Partey - who he had reportedly held conversations with about playing alongside Torreira before his last-minute exit - the Atletico boss wishes him the best. If not financial then where is the logic?

'He had a great desire to join us, ' he added. The club are a bit like family and friends [to him].

"It would be if all the conditions were met. It had to remain consistent with our finances and his contract, particularly for the management".

Saliba was on loan at Saint-Etienne in 2019-20 as part of a deal that saw him officially become an Arsenal player on a permanent deal in the summer of 2019.

"For a number of reasons, he had a lot of changes, some personal issues and the cancellation of the Covit and the French League, he didn't have that change year, he didn't have that year".

However, working with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and learning from the likes of David Luiz will make the defender a better and more mature player in the coming weeks and months. We hope that we have succeeded by giving you the full details and information.
