According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, Davis is planning to opt-out of his $28.8 million player option for the 2020-21 season, only to re-sign with the Los Angeles Lakers.

That decision shouldn't come as a major surprise.

As for the four-year deal, using a cap projection of $131.25 million for 2023, Davis would be able to sign a max contract worth $266.4 million over five years.

Rondo was a crucial part of the Lakers' championship run making 40% of his threes in the playoffs. Questions remain regarding the length of Davis' new deal, but - at least in the short term - he's committed to bringing another championship to Los Angeles.
