In July, Zayed said Egypt has secured 30 million doses of a promising English vaccine developed by Oxford University and AstraZeneca, a British-Swedish company specialised in pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical fields.
Last week "a voluntary pause to vaccination across all global trials" was triggered after a participant fell ill, AstraZeneca said, adding that it couldn't disclose medical information about the unwell participant for confidentiality reasons.
"The UK committee has concluded its investigations and recommended to the MHRA that trials in the UK are safe to resume", stated AstraZeneca.
It said globally some 18,000 people have received its vaccine so far.
