Asteroid to make near-Earth approach one day before election

IIT-Bombay students discover closest asteroid flyby of Earth ever recorded, expert confirm

IIT-Bombay students help discover closest asteroid to fly by earth

At about three to six metres across, asteroid 2020 QG was captured six hours after its closest approach to Earth by the Zwicky Transient Facility, as per a statement by NASA.

The asteroid, which was 10 to 20 feet wide, likely would have become a fireball and broken up in Earth's atmosphere before it crashed into the planet, NASA said.

Researchers propose the space rock on the off chance that it enters the circle, break separated on the passage, and make a splendid meteor. The team is excited about the next phase of studying these objects with the robotic GROWTH-India telescope at Hanle, Ladakh. NASA was unable to see it, as it flew past the Earth from the direction of the sun.

Based on 21 observations spanning 12.968 days, NASA has determined that the asteroid, with a diameter of 0.002 km, will not have a deep impact.

They have 61 from 28 games with a win rate of 67.9 per cent, and beat Chelsea 4-0 in their first match of last season. Bournemouth, Watford and Norwich City were relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2019-20 season.

The space organization has been assigned with discovering 90 percent of near-Earth asteroids that are 140 meters or bigger since those objects could cause a substantial risk and are easier to point from a distance.

They reported five "streaks" in the data as potential asteroids.

A NASA representative informed Fox News that "similar asteroids" to 2020 QG "would have disintegrated in Earth's atmosphere had they impacted".

Paul Choda, director of NASA's Centre for Around Earth Objects, added: "You will find not substantially we can do about detecting inbound asteroids coming from the sunward path, as asteroids are detected working with optical telescopes only (like ZTF), and we can only research for them in the night sky".

In June 2018, the US National Science and Technology Council warned that America is unprepared for an asteroid impact event, and has developed and released the "National Near-Earth Object Preparedness Strategy Action Plan" to better prepare.

The object, 2020 GC, was about the size of a small auto, and probably would have broken up in the atmosphere had it made a direct impact. It was identified by the groups Centre for Around-Earth Item Scientific tests. When these space rocks speed across the sky, they leave streaks in the ZTF images.
