New Zealand locks down Auckland after 4 fresh COVID-19 cases

New Zealand prime minister Jacinda Ardern announced new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday. More

They were the first cases outside of managed isolation after New Zealand announced initial success in controlling the virus.

Panic buying returned to supermarkets, huge queues formed at COVID-19 testing stations and face-masked police manned roadblocks on major roads to enforce the new measures. He has no history of overseas travel.

In Christchurch on the same day, two retirement villages went into lockdown and residents were tested for Covid-19 after residents displayed flu-like symptoms. "That is a completely natural feeling".

"The race is on to find the source of the cases and break any chains of transmission", she said.
