Turkey passes law to regulate social media content
A Turkish court in January lifted a ban on the online encyclopedia Wikipedia after nearly three years. The Journalists' Union of Turkey says 76 journalists and media staff are behind bars in Turkey.

The new store closures will occur in Oklahoma, California, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana, Nevada, and Alabama, according to the report. In cities where stores remain open, Apple requires face coverings for employees and customers while also performing temperature checks and frequent cleaning, the company said.

Among the closures are the last two remaining stores opened in Florida and several in the Los Angeles which has seen a resurgence in COVID-19.

Stunning Footage in Aftermath of Train Derailment on Bridge in Arizona
Johnny Grove, who filmed this, posted online: "One of Tempe's oldest train tracks over Tempe Town Lake on fire from a train". Tempe police tweeted: '@TempePolice and Tempe Fire are on scene of a train derailment and large fire over Tempe Town Lake.

That brings the total number of closures to 77. But renewed concerns about the spread of COVID-19 in the US, and particularly in California, led them to reverse course. According to an analysis by The New York Times , coronavirus cases are increasing in the majority of states, including those in which Apple has made a decision to re-close its stores. This is occurring in states such as California, Florida, Arizona, Texas, and more. Apple says customers with existing online orders and previously scheduled in-store Genius Support appointments are welcome through July 2.

This is particularly relevant for local, since Apple Stores were some of the first retail stores to close prior to any state or national pushes for quarantine, and are often a sort of "canary-in-a-mineshaft" for how certain communities will respond to local infection rates. "These are not decisions we rush into and a store opening in no way means that we won't take the preventative step of closing it again should local conditions warrant".
