According to a Tuesday evening report from Adam Schefter of ESPN, Bosa and the Chargers have come to terms on a five-year, $135 million contract extension that links him to the AFC West franchise for at least the next six seasons.

Bosa passes not only Garrett, but Chicago Bears 5-time Pro Bowl linebacker Khalil Mack for the highest annual salary for a defensive player in National Football League history.

The deal, which runs through the 2025 season, reportedly contains $102 million in injury guarantees - a record for a defensive player - and $78 million fully guaranteed at signing.
