The video shows Jimmy telling police he's just killed a deadly brown snake that may have bit him on the leg.

The 27-year-old used his seatbelt and knife to ward off the serpent while trying to stop the vehicle. "His head started hitting the chair (in the driver's seat) between my legs", Jimmy said in the press release.

A speeding Aussie tradie told police he couldn't have slowed down his auto because he was fighting off a deadly brown snake with a knife as he drove along the Dawson Highway in northern Queensland last month.

Jimmy managed to avoid getting a ticket or a snakebite from the encounter - though he'll probably be peeking under his seat for snakes for the rest of his life.

The officer saw the dead snake in the back of the truck and asked for help.
