Kanye West 2020 would be great 'trial run,' says Trump

Kanye West is running for President, and he's already made his VP pick.

The Birthday Party has very strong feelings about fun, however.

"Because when we win, it's everybody's birthday", he declared before addressing his opponents.

But he said he was serious about the plan. "If I win in 2024 then that was God's appointment", West said.

What else did he say?

On a lot of issues, like the death penalty and abortion, West seems to take his stance from God.

West acknowledged that he hasn't hammered out a foreign policy yet, as he wants to "focus on ourselves first" - a position which sounds similar to Trump's "America First" worldview.

West, who visited Trump in the Oval Office in 2018 and donned a trademark "Make America Great Again" red baseball cap, announced his proposed run on Saturday, as the country celebrated Independence Day.

"So when they say the way we're going to fix COVID is with a vaccine, I'm extremely cautious", he said.

"I am in service of our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, and I put everything I get on the line to serve God", West said.

"God just gave me the clarity and said it's time", he told the outlet.
