Most people will not need a COVID-19 vaccine, UK-based epidemiologist professor Sunetra Gupta has said as the world anxiously waits for a jab for the respiratory illness caused by the coronavirus that continues to spread unchecked.

The guidance, titled "Development and Licensure of Vaccines to Prevent COVID-19", describes the agency's current recommendations regarding the data needed to facilitate the manufacturing, clinical development, and approval of a COVID-19 Coronavirus vaccine. If the trial is successful, it could start production in the first quarter of next year with a minimum 100 million doses. The stock has risen more than 200% so far in 2020.
