The iconic comedian, actor, director, producer, writer and singer died of natural causes at his home in Beverly Hills on Monday night, his assistant Judy Nagy confirmed to Variety. After its impressive box office figures, the pair made three more films in a row - Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid (1982), The Man with Two Brains (1983) and All of Me (1984) - all of which were substantial successes.

There he worked as a writer and performer on Your Show Of Shows and later creating The Dick Van Dyke Show, which is widely considered to be one of the greatest television shows ever.

Reiner expressed his approach to his work in his book My Anecdotal Life, when he said, "Inviting people to laugh at you while you are laughing at yourself is a good thing to do". The actor was married to Estelle Lebost who died in 2008.

In the early 60's he would partner with Brooks as a comedy duo, performing their classic "2000 Year Old Man" routine which would eventually morph into 5 albums, the most recent of which came out in 1997.

Reiner and Brooks remained close into their late 90s with Reiner telling USA Today in 2019 that they got together regularly to watch game shows and movies. With a toupee obsession that ran as deep as his comedic talent, Reiner was the flawless foil to the trio of writers Dick Van Dyke's timeless character would lead on a weekly basis.

Reiner reprised the role of Brady on "Mad About You" and won an Emmy for his performance - one of nine he won in his career. "It all seemed so effortless", George Clooney said in a statement to HollywoodLife following the death of Carl Reiner. Reiner returned to that role in two "Ocean's" sequels.
