Kyrgios Calls out Zverev's Selfish Behavior in Instagram Rant

Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios has blasted Alexander Zverev and the tennis world after videos emerged of the German player partying while he was supposedly self-isolating.

But Becker does not appear to side with Kyrgios and took to Twitter on Tuesday to vent his anger. Zverev, who participated at the Adria Tour events in Belgrade and Zadar, pledged he would self isolate for 14 days despite testing negative for the coronavirus following his campaign in Zadar.

Becker, who has also coached Novak Djokovic, expressed displeasure with Kyrgios publicly critiquing the actions of his fellow pros and wrote: "There is an unspoken understanding between athletes!"

"How selfish can you be?" he said.

Its safe to say that after the failed "Adria Tour" created by Novak Djokovic which resulted in multiple players getting COVID-19 including "Nole" himself, Grigor Dimitrov, Borna Coric, and others, the tennis world is devastated right now. "Anybody telling off a fellow sportsman or woman is no friend of mine".

Kyrgios, the world number 40, was prompt in his reply: "For goodness sake Boris, I'm not competing or trying to throw anyone under the bus". I'm just looking out for people. It's a global pandemic and if someone is as idiotic as Alex [Zverev] to do what he has done, I'll call him out for it. Simple'.

"Kyrgios followed up with: "@TheBorisBecker is a bigger doughnut than I thought.

Becker continued the argument, with the retort: "Your [sic] amusing is it down under?"

Becker, a former coach to 17-time Grand Slam victor Djokovic, was unimpressed. "Respect all the guidelines?" "This tennis world is pissing me off, seriously, how selfish can you all get?" "I don't see that he (did) something wrong".

"Man up buddy and deliver!" Becker replied to his announcement that he had the virus by saying: "Stay safe and look after yourself and loved ones, my friend".

"Why are you now talking about tennis? Not another average management apology", tweeted the 25-year-old Australian.

While Zverev tested negative, he released a statement afterwards vowing to self-isolate, only to be spotted at a busy bar, apparently over the weekend, in footage that went viral.
