Douglas County reports 159 new cases

"Our team has been discussing how to appropriately communicate information about nonresident individuals who test positive in Archuleta and La Plata counties who can not be counted in our case counts since they are not residents", said an SJBPH news release Friday.

This week saw an increase of 1.6 percent; 937 cases confirmed on June 11 to 994 on Thursday.

Public officials at the Bureau, Putnam, Marshall County Health Department are in the beginning stages of the investigation and are working to identify individuals who were in contact with the case.

Local health officials also report there are now 22 active cases in Missoula County. Thirty-one are on home isolation, and 265 of the 310 COVID-19 patients have recovered.

The number of people hospitalized is at its lowest level since May 9.

Only slightly more men than women have been infected with 50 percent of the cases being male and 49 percent, female. Of the 362 ventilators available in area hospitals, 125 were in use, including 22 for confirmed COVID-19 patients.

Increases in case numbers can correspond to increased testing.

Missoula County added three cases, while Carbon County, Cascade County, Flathead County, Glacier County Lewis and Clark County and Park County all added one new case.
