Those associated with Antifa aim to support women, as well as people from BAME and LGTBQ communities and prevent all forms of racism and sexism. Trump has attributed the violence to leftist organizations commonly called Antifa.

Instead, antifa is a group who follow a similar philosophy and tactics.

That has made it hard for USA law enforcement to deal with violence from members of groups that label themselves as Antifa.

There have been reports of fresh clashes between police and protesters in New York, Chicago, Philadelphia and Los Angeles.
