Washington, Jun 2 (Prensa Latina) Autopsies have confirmed homicide in the case of African-American George Floyd, and put in question the authorities' version, amid a racial conflict that has sparked waves of protests in almost twenty cities in the United States.
The state of Minnesota launched a civil-rights investigation into the Minneapolis Police Department on Tuesday - a first-of-its-kind probe into what Gov. Tim Walz called the agency's "systemic discriminatory practices".
Floyd, a 46-year-old black Minneapolis resident, died after a white cop was caught on video kneeling on his neck for almost 9 minutes during what should have been a routine bust May 25 - sparking widespread racially charged protests.

According to the CNN, officer Dereck Chauvin, now under detention, spent nearly nine minutes pressing his knee to the victim's neck, and two minutes and 53 seconds after Floyd was unresponsive. Floyd's family and many others have called for more serious charges against Chauvin and for the other officers to be charged. Crump also took issue with the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's autopsy report that classified Floyd's death as a homicide but also cited "other significant conditions" it said Floyd suffered from, including heart disease and hypertension.
