"For many people, they might have a very mild illness, they might not be at risk and this will go away, and we don't necessarily need to have them tested", Henry noted.
Henry said a serious case of the new disease was not unexpected: "As you know, this is what we have been preparing for".
"There's likely at least one other person out there who has had this disease, or has this disease and we need to find them and their contacts so we can stop any further transmission."
The new Ontario cases bring Canada's total to 29, with eight cases in British Columbia and one in Quebec.
As a result, provincial health officials are actively monitoring for COVID-19 cases in communities across Canada.
