Alli apologises for video mocking Asian man, coronavirus outbreak

Alli is being investigated for an infringement of the FA's rule E3 (1) which prohibits players from creating social media posts considered "improper", or which bring the game into disrepute.

He did this while he was on vacation during the Premier League's current winter break.

For anyone who has not seen the Alli story, he posted a recording of himself wearing a face mask in an airport departure lounge, then pointed the camera towards an oblivious Asian man and panned to a bottle of antiseptic handwash.

But Sky Sports now report that the FA have written to the England star to "seek his observations" about the video he uploaded, and they will then decide whether to take any further action against the 23-year-old. It has demanded an explanation from Alli.

If Alli is to be charged, he may face the same punishment as Manchester City midfielder, Bernardo Silva.

"I don't want you to have that impression of me because it wasn't amusing and I realised that straight away and took it down".

"It isn't something that should be joked about. Sending all my love and also ideas and also petitions for everybody in China".
