Marianne Williamson Suspends Her Presidential Campaign: ‘Love Will Prevail’

Democratic presidential candidate Marianne Williamson, a self-help guru and Oprah Winfrey pal who talked about a "dark psychic force" in America, suspended her outsider campaign for the 2020 nomination on Friday. Her belief was that President Donald Trump won because he exploited fear, not because of policy; therefore, she would run on a platform that love would overcome fear.

Williamson started her campaign with both an unconventional résumé for a would-be president and an unconventional message of healing the country's divisions with spiritualism and love.

"As of today, I am suspending my campaign", added Williamson.

In 2018, she spoke to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency about having recently attended High Holiday services at an Orthodox synagogue and visiting Israel many times in recent years.
