The status yellow warning was issued at 10am on December 14.

Meanwhile, a status yellow wind warning will remain in place for Donegal.

And Met Eireann has said the coming week will be cold but a bit more settled, with more dry spells.

This means there is a high probability of snow over higher ground across central northern England and Scotland, with the likelihood ranging from 30 per cent up to 100 per cent.

In his daily forecast on Facebook page The Actual Weather, Derby-based forecaster Robert Shaw said: "Showers in a cold breeze tomorrow will be wintry, but not very frequent, so many areas will only get a cold sunny breezy day". Mainly dry and clear on Monday night apart from coastal showers in the west and northwest.

Sunday night: Showers will continue on Sunday night, with a few wintry falls, mainly in Ulster.

Overall, it's set to be a cold and blustery day today, with sunny spells and scattered showers across the county. Moderate to fresh and gusty southwest winds will be strong near coasts, with gales for a time near the North coast.

A widespread frost is anticipated with minimum temperatures of 1° to -3°, coldest in the north.
