Andrew Scheer has chose to resign as Conservative leader after a disappointing election loss and facing internal party divisions over his ability to lead the party. I very much wish him all the very, very best in his next and exciting steps, whatever they be....

A decision was made to gather the caucus together again on Thursday, under the guise of having a briefing on the trade deal.

"This party, this movement, needs someone who can give 100 per cent, This was not a decision I came to lightly, this is a decision I came to after many long hard conversations with friends and family".

"The last nail in the coffin was this story, taking money from the Conservative party to help pay for the private school of his children", Boulerice told TPM after Question Period. "There's nothing normal about that".

Scheer came under fire during the most recent election campaign for past statements on gay marriage and his continued refusal to attend or march in pride parades. "It's in no way related to your duties as leader of the party", Teneycke, who has been openly critical of Scheer's leadership, told As It Happens host Carol Off.

Although he vowed to stay and fight, voices clamoring for his removal has grown louder.

A source confirmed to the Sun that the party was paying for part of that education, but that the resignation had nothing to do with that agreement. It proved to be the final nail in the coffin.

Scheer's Conservatives scored 121 seats, up from 99 in the 2016 election.
