Philip is best known for his role as Tommy Hyatt on Alice, in which he starred opposite Linda Lavin from 1976-1985. The two had performed together in an episode of Amazing Stories in 1986 and Sheen shared a picture of the two on set in military fatigues.

McKeon died Tuesday in Texas of a longtime illness, family spokesperson Jeff Ballard told the Associated Press. Her father recently passed. You were like a brother to me.

McKeon was not only an actor but also a producer, who backed several projects in Hollywood.

McKeon's other TV credits included CHiPs, Fantasy Island, and The Love Boat. McKeon mostly starred in horror movies, notably Ghoulies 4 and Return to Horror High.

Survivors include his mother and Nancy McKeon, his sister best known for playing Jo Polniaczek in the 1980 NBC sitcom "The Facts of Life".

He is survived by his mother, Barbara, and his actress sister Nancy McKeon, who appeared on the USA version of Dancing With The Stars as a contestant in 2018.
