The description that was included with the Santa sweater on Walmart's website left not-so-subtle hints that this Santa Claus was meant to look as if he was about to snort cocaine.

The sweater appeared on their Canadian website, reports Global News Canada. Walmart did not respond to a question regarding the approval process for products and sellers its Marketplace website. "That's bad news for jolly old St. Nick, who lives far away in the North Pole", the product description read, according to a screenshot posted on Twitter. We apologise for any unintended offense this may have caused. On another, captioned "Santa has been naughty", a lingerie-clad Mrs Claus was depicted holding a whip and preparing to strike her husband's bare behind.

Last year, supporters of President Donald Trump called for a boycott over a T-shirt sold on Walmart's American marketplace.

The wool-polyester blend pullover immediately attracted widespread backlash and the retailer told ABC News in a statement that it has "removed these products from our marketplace". In 2017, the company apologized for an offensive slur used by a third-party seller in a product listing on its website.
