OnePlus' latest device, the 7T Pro 5G McLaren Edition, is now up for pre-order on T-Mobile's website.

While Sprint's and Verizon's 5G networks are available in select cities, with coverage further limited by the employed spectrum's ability to penetrate buildings (a weakness we experienced in our testing, especially with Verizon), T-Mobile claims its 5G network now covers one million square miles and 60% of the USA population.

T-Mobile announced in the launch with press release and a goofy video shared by CEO John Legere on Twitter.

T-Mobile's 4G LTE network covers more than 325 million people. T-Mobile's 5G is truly 5G, just not the fastest version right now.

T-Mobile's estimated ship date for this device is December 6, so you won't be waiting long at all if you place your order in today.

T-Mobile's 5G network is a 600MHz network, which gives it greater range than the mmWave 5G networks other carriers like AT&T and Verizon are focusing on, but less speed.

Despite its actual coverage, T-Mobile's announcement uses the word "nationwide" to describe the current reach of its 5G network a dozen times while admitting that "coverage [is] not available in some areas".

T-Mobile today announced that it has launched "America's first nationwide 5G network", but T-Mobile's definition of "nationwide" doesn't include about 40% of the USA population. These phones do not support mmWave, so you'll never be able to access T-Mobile's faster 5G network. "The 5G future is bright, and it starts today".

"5G is here on a nationwide scale".
