Well, the inevitable has happened: A vegan man is suing Burger King because he claims the Impossible Whopper, introduced earlier this year, comes in contact with meat via a shared broiler.

Williams is filing the suit along with several other vegans appalled by Burger King's alleged cooking practices.

The fast food chain's vegan Impossible Burger has been under fire for cooking on the same surface as other meaty menu items.

With the Impossible Whopper having a demonstrated impact on Burger King's bottom line (inspiring a 5% sales growth during the third quarter of 2019 according to CNN), even European BK's are expanding the meatless craze.

They were on the verge of a deal when US President Donald Trump scuttled the talks in September, citing Taliban violence. However, they were allowed to join the Taliban team negotiating directly with Washington's peace envoy Zalmay Khalilzad.

"Plaintiff had been duped by Burger King's deceptive practices into eating a meat-free Whopper Patty that was in fact covered in meat by-products", the lawsuit says.

In smaller print below the description, the company says guests who want a "meat-free option" can request their Impossible Patties not be prepared on the broiler where beef and chicken products are cooked.

An archived version of the same webpage shows that disclaimer was not present on August 8, when Williams bought his burger.

The Impossible Whopper is not now available in New Zealand.

Riot police officers had to use a water cannon to disperse protesters who had been blocking the entrances to the Georgian parliament building.

Williams claims that he's "suffered monetary damages in the amount that he paid to purchase".

A spokesperson for Burger King told the Daily Mail that customers can request to have the Impossible Whopper cooked on a different broiler than the company's traditional meat products, but vegans claim they were not informed of the option and have voiced their outrage online.

"Went to @BurgerKing and asked for an impossible burger".

"Our Impossible™ WHOPPER® Sandwich features a savoury flame-grilled patty made from plants topped with juicy tomatoes, fresh lettuce, creamy mayonnaise, ketchup, crunchy pickles, and sliced white onions on a soft sesame seed bun", it reads.

The suit accuses Burger King of false advertising and benefiting monetarily from a vegan option that is not vegan.
