The Witcher on Netflix has been renewed for a second season

Witcher gets a season 2 on Netflix before season 1 even airs

Netflix renews The Witcher for a second season ahead of Season 1 premiere

The Witcher Netflix series has been renewed for a second season. If this sounds counterintuitive, it sort of is.

Season 1 of The Witcher drops on Netflix on December 20. Honestly, it's probably both.

The Netflix series is based on the popular fantasy series of novels and short stories by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski.

Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri will be back for more Season Two.

Check out the announcement from Netflix below! The trailers for the Netflix adaptation have showcased its dark, brooding hero and its impressive (and expensive-looking) production design and visual effects, which promise to immerse audiences into a unsafe world full of monsters, elves, humans, gnomes, and more struggle to stay alive.

The synopsis from Netflix: "The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family". The series follows Geralt of Rivia, played by Henry Cavill, who is a monster hunter on The Continent, before and after he meets Yennefer, a sorceress, played by Anya Chalotra, and Ciri, played by Freya Allan.

In their commission report, the FA also explain that the player did not intend for the tweet to be racist or insulting. But the FA verdict added "that his was not a private jocular communication between two friends".

As we said in that article, this is just how big budget shows work these days. With the early renewal, production can start a little bit sooner than if Netflix would have waited until a month or two after the series premiere to order the renewal. It's set to arrive in style with eight episodes available to watch right off the bat - but despite the fact that we haven't actually seen any of it yet, the show has already been signed up for a second season.

Netflix should allow Hissrich and the show's creative team to take their time with this show. Let us know in the comment section below!
