Prime Minister Boris Johnson, opposition Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn and other political leaders took time out from campaigning to join the ceremony on a cold, sunny autumn morning.

A representative of Bermuda laid a wreath on behalf of the country at a remembrance ceremony in Britain for the first time today.

The Queen was joined by members of her family as she honoured the nation's war heroes at a Remembrance Sunday service.

Just like past year, it was a royal full house at this important event, with Queen Elizabeth II joined by all four of her children and various members of their families, including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

“Im delighted that a representative of Bermuda has laid a wreath at the Cenotaph in London in memory of those who helped to preserve the freedoms we enjoy today.”.

The ceremony takes place every year on the nearest Sunday to the anniversary of the end of World War I at 11 a.m. on November 11, 1918.

As the clock hit 11 a.m, those in attendance marked two minutes of silence which ended with the firing of a gun by the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery.

All three services played traditional music for the service, including the Last Post, played by Buglers of the Royal Marines.

An equerry laid a wreath for the Duke of Edinburgh, who was not present after retiring from royal duties two years ago.

After wreaths are laid, the Bishop of London, Dame Sarah Mullally, will lead a service of remembrance which will end with trumpeters of the Royal Air Force sounding Rouse (Reveille).

This year marks the 75th anniversary of D-Day, the Battle of Kohima in India, the Battle of Arnhem in the Netherlands, and the Bottle of Monte Cassino in Italy.

The annual Royal British Legion Veterans' Parade followed the service, in which thousands of veterans from the Second World War or more recent conflicts marched past the Cenotaph.
