Canada's Trudeau says Conservative rivals are running dirty election campaign

The Conservatives were the source of a video of Trudeau in blackface in the early 1990s.

On Wednesday, Trudeau, Conservative leader Andrew Scheer and NDP chief Jagmeet Singh were all stumping for votes in Quebec, a predominantly French-speaking province that is a key political battleground, home to 78 of the 338 seats up for grabs.

Polls show Trudeau's Liberals are locked in a tie with the opposition Conservatives ahead of the vote on Monday and will not capture enough seats for a majority.

"As we approach these last, final days of this election campaign, I can't help but think of a lesson my father taught me", Trudeau said, noting that Friday was the 100th anniversary of his father's birth.

In the absence of an overriding narrative, dirty tactics and awkward moments have characterised the campaign.

Archaeologists remove the cover of an ancient painted coffin discovered at Al-Asasif Necropolis in the Valley of Kings in Luxor. The discovered coffins were placed by high priests to be stored in a store with a stone gate to prevent any robbery attempts.

Going further back to compare to Monday's results, the Liberals are up by 2.1 points, the Conservatives are down by four-tenths of a point, the NDP is by 1.7 points, the Bloc is down by six-tenths of a point, the Greens have fallen by 2.8 points and the People's Party and another party option are stagnant.

In the words of Canada's former Conservative foreign minister, John Baird: "He's not the sizzle, he's the steak". "He is ready to steal the election with lies and manipulations". "We are considering other (legal) avenues".

Sheer is refusing to confirm, deny or even acknowledge the report.

"Andrew Scheer and the Conservatives are choosing to play very divisive games and to use politics of fear and division to try and get Canadians to vote for them", Trudeau said. The New Democratic Party was third with 18.4% support.

Trudeau sidestepped questions about his plans if he did not win a majority.

Upasana Konidela, who is also married to Telugu actor Ram Charan , questioned why the southern film industry was "neglected". Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali said the session was very informal and the film industry understands the informal language the best.

Most polls continue to suggest the Liberals and Conservatives are deadlocked in popular support, raising talk about potential minority or coalition governments.

Scheer has used the affair as part of his argument that Trudeau should not be given another mandate to govern, often invoking Wilson-Raybould's name in a positive light for her actions in refusing to intervene.

"Justin Trudeau has made it clear he will pay any price to stay in power, and he will use your money to do it", he told reporters.
