In his brief address aired on state-run Pakistan Television, Khan questioned the "disproportionate" amount of coverage accorded by the global media to the dire human rights situation in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, especially in context of the widespread coverage of the Hong Kong protests. "Modi thinks that the people of Kashmir will accept the decision of revoking Article 370".

Thousands of people turned up to form a human chain, stretched across the Constitution Avenue to express solidarity with the people of Indian-held Kashmir, living under curfew for the last over two months.

PM Imran Khan told President Erdogan that the Pakistani nation is eagerly waiting to warmly welcome him during his upcoming visit to Pakistan. "We will continue reminding the worldwide community that eight million humans have been locked up in Kashmir", he vowed. "It is part of China", Khan observed, adding: "On the other hand, Kashmir is an internationally-recognized disputed region but unfortunately, the world media is more anxious about Hong Kong".

"Our movement is for the human rights of the Kashmiri people; God willing it will become massive", the prime minister added. PM Imran will address its participants.

He claimed that the media paid much attention to the ongoing Hong Kong protests while surprisingly avoided giving importance to the "dire human rights situation" in Indian-administered Kashmir. Khan's tweet came days after he met Chinese President Xi Jinping and discussed the Kashmir matter.
