Singer-songwriter Eddie Money has died at the age of 70.

Over his career that spanned four decades, Money sold almost 30 million records.

Between 1978 and 1982, Money released four albums that made it into the Top 40 of Billboard's Top 200, with a slew of singles climbing into the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, including "Baby Hold On" and "Two Tickets to Paradise", which peaked at No. 11 and No. 22, respectively. In 1980 at the height of his fame, the singer, who got sober in 2001 thanks to a 12-step program, almost fatally overdosed from a mixture of barbiturate and phenobarbital (which he had mistaken for cocaine) and alcohol, damaging his kidneys and the sciatic nerve in his left leg; he was unable to walk for almost a year as a result.
