Papi's Back: David Ortiz throws out 1st pitch at Fenway

Red Sox fans were in for quite the treat on Monday when David Ortiz made a surprise appearance at Fenway Park to throw out the first pitch of the game against the New York Yankees.

He picked up a mic and told the crowd: "I want to thank God for giving me a second opportunity in my life".

Ortiz, introduced on the public-address system as a symbol of "resilience, strength, triumph and love", ran up the steps from the dugout to the field, appearing strong and healthy, before throwing a pitch to former teammate Jason Varitek.
