WhatsApp is now testing the fingerprint unlock feature on its beta Android app with the build number 2.19.221, reported WABetaInfo. The feature is now available to those who have registered in WhatsApp's beta programme for Android.
After enabling this feature in WhatsApp, users can only access WhatsApp via Fingerprint authentication. If you have already updated WhatsApp to the latest version and still do not see the Fingerprint lock feature, you should try reinstalling the app after backing up your chat history. Also, note that the widget content is hidden by default when you enable the feature, though if you wanted privacy in your chats, you wouldn't be adding a preview widget to your homescreen. After introducing Touch ID unlock on iOS, the feature would soon be available on Android.

Looks like today is the day of all things fingerprint unlock on Android. Choosing the' immediately' option will require the user to fingerprint authenticate every time they close and open the app. If you're impatient, just delete the app and reinstall it again.
Last heard, WhatsApp was working on the quick edit media feature to ensure the bug-free experience for its users. There's also an option that allows you to hide notification content when locked. You'd have to be enrolled in WhatsApp's beta testing program to test the feature. The feature promises to automatically rank contacts by detecting which contacts you interact with the most. You can still reply to the WhatsApp messages from notification without actually entering the app. The company has not revealed any particular date when it will roll out this feature as it is still under development.
