Snap, the makers of Snapchat, is launching the third-generation of Spectacles, it's video-recording sunglasses.

It will have dual cameras to add depth and dimension to photos and videos.

Spectacles 3 are priced at $380 - 2.5 times the starting $150 price point of the current generation. They are available for pre-order now, ships this November.

Bottom line: Snap is definitely targeting a different demographic with Spectacles 3 - if not for the design, then by evident of the price tag. The second camera on the glasses is now used for depth sensing, which means Snap can now do a lot of cool AR stuff with the new Spectacles 3.

Notably, Snap's Spectacles 3 aren't water resistant like last year's model was.

To record video, users tap either button (up to 60 seconds continuously) or press and hold for a photo. The glasses provide a 3D viewer for watching Snaps captured by the Spectacles. After uploading the content to the messaging app Snapchat, users can add new lighting, landscapes and three-dimensional effects to the images, Snap said. The Snaps also can be exported to the camera roll in circular, horizontal, square and virtual-reality formats. The glasses also include a full-grain leather charging case equipped with a standard USB-C charging cable.
