Samsung announces World's First 108MP Mobile Camera Sensor in collaboration with Xiaomi

Called the ISOCELL Bright HMX, the new sensor is a collaboration between Xiaomi and Samsung, and offers features, Samsung claims, that were so far reserved for high-end DSLR cameras.

Samsung handsets have rarely been the best camera phones, but numerous cameras that other brands use come from Samsung, and the company has just unveiled another sensor - one with an enormous megapixel count. After lots of rumours, Samsung made it official and the new image sensor will be first used on upcoming Xiaomi flagship device.

Even at that dimension, a 108-megapixel sensor will have ridiculously small pixels.

Citizenship chief: Migrant 'green cards' can be evaluated on welfare use
Officials can take into account an applicant's financial resources, health, education, skills, family status and age. The rule, Sandweg says, is part of the Trump administration's broader effort to reduce legal immigration.

Additionally, the ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor utilizes Smart ISO, which is a tool that automatically chooses the level of amplifier gains based on the lighting for ideal light to electric signal conversion.

As the smartphone industry has advanced rapidly, camera resolution and quality is considered among the prime distinguishable factors which affect consumer preference and brand perception.

Chipmaker Qualcomm too had earlier upgraded the camera support to 192-megapixel on its new processors like Snapdragon 855 and Snapdragon 730. It's also created to take better low-light shots by merging the pixels to absorb more light.

Rogers Cup - Daniil Medvedev vs Dominic Thiem Preview & Prediction

In bright environments, the mechanism selects low-ISO mode for vivid colors, while switching to high-ISO mode in dark settings. With the sensor expected to enter mass production later this month, we could see the first handset that uses it before the end of the year. While it has not been confirmed that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 will definitely get the sensor, Xiaomi is confirmed to be the first to use it and this is the most likely phone to launch with it. This sensor is therefore larger than Samsung's 64MP GW-1 (1/1.72-inch) and 48MP cameras (1/2-inch).

The sensor announcement included carefully synchronized statements from Xiaomu co-founder Lin Bin and Samsung executive Yongin Park using the phrase "close collaboration", suggesting that the companies share some degree of ownership of the new sensor technology.
