ABC Studios responded later Sunday with a statement, largely referring to its production partners, Entertainment One.

ABC Entertainment President Karey Burke is reserving judgment on sexual harassment and racial discrimination allegations that prompted actress Afton Williamson to quit the network's drama series "The Rookie".

Williamson brought the allegations to light in an Instagram post published early Sunday morning.

"We have initiated an independent investigation which is ongoing and as such, it would be inappropriate to comment at this time", the production company said.

EW has reached out to a representative for Hawley for comment.

Sources told The Hollywood Reporter that Entertainment One, the lead studio of "The Rookie", had launched an ongoing investigation into Williamson's claims, although it remains unclear if that was before or after her departure.

"The Rookie", which follows a man in his 40s at the Los Angeles Police Department, was picked up straight to series and renewed for a second season, according to the magazine.
