According to Collider, Wednesday, Universal pictures released a first look of the upcoming film, just days before the official release of the trailer on Friday. The video features numerous star-studded cast, including Taylor Swift, James Corden, Idris Elba, Rebel Wilson, Ian McKellen, Judi Dench, Jennifer Hudson, and more, prancing around set and explaining what the production process has been like.

Cats will be released on December 20, but here's your inside look.

Unfortunately, the Cats cast did not rehearse in full or even partial costume and makeup.

The production uses technology to add virtual fur to each of the actor's bodies, as well as using large sets to give the appearance of the actors being as small as cats.

Sadly, there are no actual cats in this footage, but we will most likely only have to wait one more day for that spectacle. The screenplay is by Lee Hall (Billy Elliot, Rocketman) and Hooper, based on Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats by T.S. Eliot and the stage musical by Lloyd Webber. In 1983, the Broadway production became the recipient of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and ran for an extraordinary 18 years.

In the video, co-star James Corden credits Hooper's vision for bringing such a complicated production to life.
