Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was recently on a flight and tried to exchange seats with a man, even offering him a lump sum of cash, but was denied.

The video shows Newton pointing at a seat that's already been taken - a seat that seems to be in a row without seats in front of it.

Sports radio host Andy Slater later reported that Newton was originally in a business class seat for the 10-hour flight home, but then missed the flight.

Edwards, who now competes on NBC's "Titan Games", told CNN that he had encountered Newton in the airport and was on the same flight leaving Paris as the Carolina quarterback. When they boarded the plane, he began recording and saw the athlete again as the plane was getting ready to leave.
