According to Ming-Chi Kuo the two 2020 iPhones with 5G (the 5.4-inch and 6.7-inch models) will use Qualcomm modems as Apple's in-house 5G modem isn't expected until 2022. "The companies also have reached a six-year license agreement, effective as of April 1, 2019, including a two-year option to extend, and a multiyear chipset supply agreement", Apple said a statement. The latter basically confirms all speculation pointing that the 2019 iPhone XR will be the last Apple smartphone to ship with a standard LCD display. The new iPhones will feature 6.7-inch, 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch OLED displays. Moving to a 5.4-inch diagonal would result in a significantly more compact device. Kuo also said that all three iPhone models in 2020 will come in multiple colors and feature OLED panels, unlike the LCD panel in the current iPhone XR. Of its three-phone lineup in 2020, Apple's 6.7-inch and 5.4-inch iPhones will be 5G-capable, thanks to Qualcomm's modems. But Kuo predicts Apple would shift all of its new iPhone models to have 5G capabilities by 2021. Furthermore, The 2020 iPhone XS3 and XS3 Max will support both sub-6GHz and mmWave technology.
