Huawei has confirmed that it, too, is delaying its first foldable handset.

"We don't want to start [unfinished] product, to destroy their reputation", - said the official representative of Huawei, not becoming to go into the reasons for delay in the release of such a landmark for the company product. The Fold debuted in April but shipment of the phone has been indefinitely delayed after several gadgets reviewed by many reviewers has issues in a matter of days.

The Mate X was originally unveiled in February and was praised by some as the most promising of the new crop of foldable devices.

The company claims that the delay has noting to do with the USA sanctions that forced the Chinese tech giant to scrap plans for a new MateBook earlier this week.

CNBC reports the phone has been delayed while Huawei conducts further tests on the device - something said to have been decided in the wake of the Samsung Galaxy Fold issues.

Samsung Galaxy Fold was originally scheduled to launch in the United States on April 26 and in the UK on May 3, but is now delayed indefinitely following a number of issues with the pliable Infinity Flex display in review units handed to U.S. media. It is unclear when Samsung Galaxy Fold will hit the markets. The FlexPai foldable phone has a lower price tag than the Galaxy Fold and Mate X but it is still more expensive than a flagship smartphone. Huawei wants to make sure that the device offers the best experience possible when connecting to the new networks while also delivering a good experience with apps which will take advantage of the new foldable display form factor.

Twitter immediately had a field day with Mr Trump's comments, with Prince of Whales trending on the social media site. The major blunder, which has now been deleted was there on Trump's twitter account for above 20 minutes at least.

Huawei is looking to put those fears to rest, telling CNBC that it's "confident" it can ship the device even if the US ban remains in place.

Well! there are still some questions which are unanswered like whether the Mate X will launch with Android or not.

The Mate X delay is just the latest challenge for Huawei, the world's No. 1 telecom supplier and No. 2 phone manufacturer.
