Sherif then released a statement via MailOnline about the matter but it's predictably vague on the details.

He continued, "I really enjoyed my time in the villa and look forward to catching up with everyone on the outside".

Earlier today, it was announced that Love Island's Sherif Lanre had been axed from the villa after breaking show rules, and his exit has now been addressed on the show - albeit a little minimally.

"I appreciate you all and hope I provided some good, positive moments during my time on Love Island and for anyone wondering I'm all good".

Along with serving as the host of the World Cup, France is also one of the tournament's favorites. But even after that goal was taken away, France still finished with four goals on 21 shots.

'After breaking the villa rules, Sherif had conversations with the producers and it was mutually agreed that he would leave the Love Island villa'.

"When producers told Islanders they have to get ready to film a challenge, Sherif was deliberately spending ages in the shower".

The producers of the show also confirmed that he had been removed from the show after he broke the rules.

He was kicked out for "breaking the rules", although this has not been elaborated on fully.

Shortly after the news broke, Sherif's mum Diana said she's spoken to her son but insists she doesn't know the full story.

It is unsure what this means for her situation or the next recoupling.

"I feel like if you're down and around me, you'll end up being a bit more upbeat", the 20-year-old said at the start of this year's series.

Sherif was picked to be part of this year's original Love Island line-up after being scouted while buying his lunch, and described himself as "cheeky, confident and pretty flamboyant" when he first introduced himself to viewers in May of this year. "I think so. I'm going to defend my son".
