Naomi Osaka knocked out of French Open to end winning grand slam run

Serena Williams lost in the third round of the French Open on Saturday, in a surprising upset that saw her defeated by American player Sofia Kenin.

Serena Williams is out of the French Open after losing to 20-year-old countrywoman Sofia Kenin in straight sets in the third round. The last player to do so was Williams, who recorded her earliest loss at a major tournament in five years.

But that seems likely to change now after beating the No. 10 player in the world, especially if she continues her run at the French Open after beating Williams, a three-time champ at Roland Garros.

Diatchenko's picture from the match against United States ace Serena Williams wowed netizens and media as her guns carried a certain resemblance to the Incredible Hulk's bulky arms.

It quoted Dang as saying that Huawei is also limiting interactions between its employees and American citizens. Gao said the detailed measures of China's list will be announced in the near future.

"It's a lot of emotion", Kenin said in her on-court interview.

She also admitted to feeling pressured during the tournament. Top seed Osaka's hopes of winning a third successive Grand Slam ended when she was knocked out by unheralded Katerina Siniakova of the Czech Republic, 6-4, 6-2. "I feel like I'm playing well and being able to execute to make the score lines look a little easier than the match actually is".

Williams had cruised through her first two matches, only dropping 12 total games and one match.

"I could see that she's not so confident like she was", Siniakova said of Osaka. "I watched her so much growing up, along with [Maria] Sharapova and other players, of course".

Williams made her Grand Slam return from childbirth in Paris previous year, reaching the fourth round before withdrawing minutes before a match with Maria Sharapova due to a pectoral injury.

Williams, who has still to add to her majors collection since she returned to the tour after giving birth to her daughter, fired 30 winners and 34 unforced errors.

"I would have expected to have gotten past the third round".

"I haven't been on the court as much as I would have wanted to and it's been a gruelling season for me".

But skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed hopes his side will draw inspiration from 2017, when the team was in a similar position. England got their campaign off to a spectacular start with a win over South Africa on Thursday.

There was one last pivotal moment: Serving for the victory, Kenin faced a break point, but Williams' miscue let it go by.
