China welcomes PM Imran Khan's attendance in 2nd Belt and Road Forum

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte departed for Beijing on Wednesday, April 24, to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping and attend the second Belt and Road Forum with other heads of state.

He said China hoped to provide better public goods to the countries along the Belt and Road through their cooperation.

"We have every confidence to work with Pakistan to promote greater progress in this project to deliver greater benefits to our people", Radio Pakistan quoted him as saying.

The spokesperson observed that the CPEC was a highly demonstrative project and it set a good example for other projects under the Belt and Road Initiative.

The forum will include a series of events, such as leaders' round table, high-level meeting, thematic forum, CEO conference, under the theme of Belt and Road cooperation shaping a brighter shared future.

Xi expressed his appreciation toward Lagarde for her promotion of the IMF's cooperation with China and her support of the joint construction of the Belt and Road global cooperation.
