Keller, Anderson Suspended for Roles in White Sox-Royals Altercation

Tim Anderson's home run and bat flip lead to kerfuffle between White Sox, Royals

Report: MLB suspends SS Anderson

Anderson's suspension - which was because of the language Anderson used during the benches-clearing incident and not the bat toss - is for one game, and Keller, who hit Anderson with a pitch, received a five-game ban.

Keller, who was suspended five games, was apparently reacting to a perceived insult - Anderson spiked his bat following his fourth-inning home run on Wednesday. Anderson was pissed and the benches eventually cleared. All three were fined Friday by Chief Baseball Officer Joe Torre.

Chicago White Sox's Tim Anderson (7) is restrained by Jose Abreu after he was hit by a pitch from the Kansas City Royals, as benches cleared during the sixth inning of a baseball game in Chicago, Wednesday, April 17, 2019.

The Royals won the game, 4-3, in extra innings.

Part of NASA's study of the effects of long spaceflights on the human body, Koch will spend 328 days in space. NASA astronaut Andrew Morgan, set to leave Earth on July 20, will also enjoy an extended stay aboard the ISS.

The incident has sparked league-wide debate about the ethics and consequences of bat-flipping, but has above all else further mystified the oft-coined, heavily marketed approach of "letting the kids play", with Anderson's suspension in particular receiving backlash. So the next time Anderson came to the plate, Keller put the first pitch in his hip. The dugouts and bullpens emptied, though no punches appeared to be thrown.

White Sox manager Rick Renteria and Royals bench coach Dale Sveum got into a shoving match on the side of the hubbub and were both ejected as well.

McGahn later told White House Staff Secretary Rob Porter that he had planned to resign rather than follow through on the order. Mueller deemed Trump's written answers - rife with iterations of "I don't recall" - to be "inadequate".

Here was Anderson's celebration after his home run. Renteria will serve his suspension Friday night when the White Sox face the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park - stream regionally via fuboTV (Try for free). At one point, it looked like managers Ned Yost and Rick Renteria were about to go at it.
