An Early Look At Thursday’s Storms

FIRST ALERT FORECAST: Severe weather threat Thurs. is arguably ‘greater than any other time this spring’

WHAT: Should any storms form Wednesday afternoon and evening, there is a good chance they could become severe.

Large hail, damaging winds and an isolated tornado are all possible late Wednesday afternoon and evening.

The northern line of storms will develop along a cold front in Kansas and Oklahoma and weaken as it moves east.

According to the NWS, Thursday looks to be mostly sunny, quite breezy, but with a high of about 70 degrees.

Meteorologists with the Severe Storm Prediction Center upgraded the area's risk of severe weather Thursday from slight to enhanced. Cloudy conditions with a few scattered showers possible through the day, and winds will be gusty out of the northwest.

The threat for severe storms stretches from San Antonio all the way north to Oklahoma City and southern Kansas.
